Play.co.za is running a competition where one South African player wins a 10-night trip to the Maldives for two. Here is what the prize includes, who can enter, how entries work and the rules worth knowing before you play. We have summarised the official competition terms in plain language below.

What you can win
The grand prize is a trip to the Maldives for the winner and one travel companion, worth up to R150,000 in total. It includes:
- Return economy-class flights between South Africa and the Maldives for two people
- 10 nights’ accommodation for two at a hotel or resort chosen or approved by Play
- Food and drinks included in the meal plan or package Play selects
- Airport and resort transfers
The R150,000 is a cap on the total cost of the trip, not a cash prize. If the trip costs less, you do not get the difference in cash. Play may also run weekly or overall leaderboard prizes, which are listed on its competition page.
Who can enter
- You must be 18 or older and live in South Africa
- You need a Play.co.za account in your own name that has passed FICA and identity checks
- Only one Play.co.za account per person can take part
- The winner needs a valid passport and must meet the travel and entry requirements for the Maldives
- Play staff, their agents and suppliers involved in the competition cannot win
How to earn entries
The competition dates and times (all in SAST) are shown on Play’s Maldives competition page. During that period you can earn entries in three ways:
- Daily free entries: claim free entries once every 24 hours, at no cost
- Qualifying deposits: each successful deposit into your own account earns entries at the ratio Play shows, up to a daily maximum
- Referrals: refer a genuinely new player who registers and deposits, and you earn extra entries within Play’s limits
Deposits that are reversed, charged back or cancelled do not count. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts and any attempt to create fake entries lead to disqualification. Because free daily entries are available, you do not need to deposit to have a chance.
How the winner is picked
After the competition closes, Play draws the winner at random from all valid entries within 15 days. Each entry is one chance in the draw, so more entries means more chances, but nothing is guaranteed. Play contacts the winner using the details on their account and announces the result on its competition page. The winner is only confirmed once Play has verified their account and eligibility.

A free daily entry makes this worth claiming if you already have a Play.co.za account. We would not deposit more than you normally would just to earn extra entries.
