Quick answer: the best no-deposit bonus we found is Play.co.za’s 30 free spins with no wagering, because anything you win is real money once your account is verified. Hollywoodbets, Easybet and Gbets also give new players a small bonus bet plus free spins without a deposit, but each has wagering, time limits or a deposit you must make before you can withdraw.

Our pick: Play.co.za’s no-wagering free spins

Play.co.za’s sign-up free spins are on Gates of Olympus 1000.

Most no-deposit bonuses come with strings attached. Play.co.za’s sign-up offer is the exception: new players can choose 30 free spins on Gates of Olympus 1000 with no wagering. Whatever you win from the spins is real money, and you can withdraw it once your account is FICA verified. Play.co.za’s own FAQ says the welcome slots bonus can be claimed on registration, without depositing first.

You can also pick a 125% deposit match up to R3,000 instead, but you can only choose one. For most players the free spins are the better choice. We also saw a second version of the offer with 69 free spins on Wild Spells, so check which one you’re shown before you choose. There’s no promo code to enter. Our Play.co.za promo code guide has the full step-by-step, and our Play.co.za review covers withdrawals, licence and player feedback.

Other no-deposit offers at licensed SA sites

Hollywoodbets: R25 sign-up bonus + 50 free spins

Hollywoodbets is one of South Africa’s biggest bookmakers, and its sign-up offer has been running for years. New players get a R25 bonus for sports betting plus 50 free spins on selected slots. The bonus expires quickly and has minimum odds, so plan your bet before it lands. Hollywoodbets also has a large Lucky Numbers section, which we explain in our SA Lucky Numbers guide.

Easybet: R50 bonus + 25 free spins

Easybet credits R50 to your bonus wallet within minutes of registering, plus 25 free spins at 20c each within two hours. The bonus can only be used on sports and Lucky Numbers, and must be bet three times at odds of 3.0 (2/1) or higher within 10 days. Winnings from the bonus and from the spins are each capped at R300. To withdraw, you must first deposit at least R99 and bet R99 of your own money at odds of 2.0 or higher, and your first withdrawal must be made using Ozow.

Gbets: R50 free bet + 50 free spins

Gbets gives new players a R50 free bet and 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus once their account is verified. Both must be used within 5 days, and standard wagering applies. You’ll need to deposit at least R25 before you can withdraw any winnings.

How no-deposit bonuses work

How a no-deposit bonus works

  • 1RegisterSign up with your real details. Use a promo code only if asked.
  • 2Verify (FICA)Upload your ID and proof of address. Most bonuses need this.
  • 3Get the bonusFree spins or a bonus bet land in your bonus wallet.
  • 4Meet the termsBet the bonus the required times, at the minimum odds, in time.
  • 5WithdrawSome sites want a small deposit before your first payout.

18+ only · Terms apply · Responsible gambling helpline 0800 006 008

Every no-deposit offer follows the same basic pattern:

  1. Register: open an account with your real details. Enter a promo code only if the site asks for one.
  2. Verify: most licensed sites credit the bonus, or let you withdraw winnings, only after FICA. See our FICA guide.
  3. Get the bonus: free spins or a bonus bet appear in a separate bonus wallet.
  4. Meet the terms: bet the bonus the required number of times, at the minimum odds, before it expires.
  5. Withdraw: some sites ask for a small deposit first. Winnings move to your main balance once the terms are met.

The bonus stake itself is almost never paid out. What you can withdraw is the winnings from it, and only after the terms are met.

Betting sites with free spins and no deposit

Free spins are now the most common no-deposit offer in South Africa. Each spin has a fixed value, often 20c to R1, on a named slot game. Before you claim, check three things:

  • Spin value: 30 spins at R1 are worth more than 50 spins at 20c.
  • Wagering on winnings: no-wagering spins, like Play.co.za’s, pay real money. Others turn winnings into bonus money that must be bet again.
  • Maximum win: many spins cap what you can win, such as Easybet’s R300.

The terms that matter most

A no-deposit bonus is only worth something if you can turn it into cash. These are the terms to read first:

TermWhat to look for
WageringHow many times you must bet the bonus. 1x to 3x is reasonable for a small no-deposit bonus.
Minimum oddsSome bonuses only count at odds of 3.0 or more, which means riskier bets.
ExpiryNo-deposit bonuses often expire in 1 to 10 days.
Maximum winA cap on what you can withdraw from the bonus, such as R300.
Deposit to withdrawMany sites want a small deposit before your first payout, even on a no-deposit offer.
Eligible betsBonus money may only work on sports, or on sports and Lucky Numbers.
One per personUsually one offer per person, household, device, IP address or phone number.

Our betting bonuses guide explains wagering in more detail, with worked examples.

Worked example: what R50 is really worth

Let’s take Easybet’s R50 sign-up bonus. You must bet it three times, so R150 in total, at odds of 3.0 or higher, within 10 days. A bet at odds of 3.0 is roughly a one-in-three chance. That means:

  • Most players will lose the R50 before completing the R150 rollover.
  • If you do win, you can withdraw at most R300 from the bonus.
  • Before withdrawing, you must deposit R99 and bet R99 of your own money at odds of 2.0 or higher.

So a “free R50” can cost you R99 of your own betting before you see any of it. That doesn’t make it a bad offer, but it’s why no-wagering free spins are usually the better deal.

No-deposit offers to avoid

Be careful with sites advertising huge no-deposit bonuses, like “R500 free, no deposit”. These are almost always offshore casinos without a South African licence. If they refuse to pay, there’s no South African regulator to complain to. Warning signs include a licence from Curaçao or Anjouan, crypto-only payments, no FICA checks and a full online casino with live dealers. Read our guide to new betting sites and offshore red flags.

Frequently asked questions

Which betting site has the best no-deposit bonus in South Africa?

Of the offers we checked in October 2026, Play.co.za’s 30 free spins with no wagering are the best value, because the winnings are real money once your account is verified.

Can I withdraw a no-deposit bonus?

Not the bonus itself. You can withdraw the winnings from it once you’ve met the terms and verified your account. Some sites, like Easybet and Gbets, also ask for a small deposit before your first withdrawal.

Do I need a promo code for a no-deposit bonus?

Usually not. Play.co.za, Hollywoodbets, Easybet and Gbets credit their sign-up offers automatically when you register. If a site needs a code, it shows a field for it during sign-up.

Do I need to FICA to get a no-deposit bonus?

At most licensed sites, yes. Gbets credits its offer only after verification, and every site requires FICA before you withdraw.

Can I claim no-deposit bonuses at more than one site?

Yes. You can claim one sign-up offer at each licensed bookmaker. You can’t claim the same site’s offer twice.

Are there betting sites with free spins and no deposit?

Yes. Play.co.za, Hollywoodbets, Gbets and Easybet all include free spins in their sign-up offers. Play.co.za’s spins are the only ones with no wagering on the winnings.

Why didn’t I get my no-deposit bonus?

Common reasons are an incomplete FICA, an account or device that already claimed the offer, or skipping the bonus option during sign-up. Contact the site’s support with your username.
