The big series of the summer
Australia (October): three Tests in Durban, Gqeberha and Cape Town, after a three-match ODI series. Australia are always one of the hardest touring sides, and the Tests matter for World Test Championship qualification.
Bangladesh (November and December): two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. On paper the Proteas are strong favourites at home, which usually means short odds on a South African win, so markets like top batter, top bowler and totals often offer more value.
England (December and January): the highlight of the summer, including the traditional Boxing Day Test at Centurion from 26 December and the New Year Test at Newlands from 3 January.

Popular cricket betting markets explained
- Match winner: who wins the match. In Test cricket, the draw is usually a third option.
- Top batter: which player scores the most runs for their team.
- Top bowler: which player takes the most wickets for their team.
- Total runs: whether a team’s innings, or a set number of overs, goes over or under a line.
- Toss winner: a pure 50/50 bet on who wins the coin toss.
Things to check before betting on cricket
- Format: Tests, ODIs and T20s play very differently. T20 results are much less predictable.
- Pitch and weather: some pitches favour batting, others spin or seam. Rain can shorten a match or lead to a no result.
- Rain rules: read how your bookmaker settles bets on shortened matches and no results. These rules differ between bookmakers.
